Our Weekend!

Ella hanging out with Daddy while Mom was getting dinner ready. She was such a good girl that night, she actually slept 7 hours. That's the longest she's ever slept. I was hoping she'd do the same last night considering Sly was out of town, but I had no such luck.

Ella with Daddy just before he headed out for Pittsburgh.

Ella and Mommy in the Kitchen. Ella just wanted to hang out with the grown ups. She wanted to make sure she wouldn't miss a thing. She stayed up till 10pm that evening just watching everyone.

Ella wearing something other than Pink. We had just returned from seeing the Grandparents in Richmond and she wasn't too happy. She fell asleep in the car on the ride home and I had just gotten her out of her seat.

Ella Just Hanging Out!

We attended my cousin Patricia's baby shower this weekend. There we saw baby Alix who is 2 1/2 weeks younger than Ella. He's so cute and tiny. He is still smaller at 3 weeks than Ella was when she was born. Ella looks so big beside him. He's wearing newborn sizes and Ella is already outgrowing 3 months. I can't believe how big she is getting.
Ella is starting to try to talk. Not real words of course but oohs and ahhs. It's really cute. She's also trying to smile. It's so much fun to see.
Spending the weekend in Richmond wasn't the greatest thing for her routine. She didn't want to take her nap in her playpen and had problems sleeping one night. She is going to have to learn to sleep elsewhere because Christmas is just around the corner.
We thought we were going to be in trouble once we got home but she ended up sleeping great that night. 5 3/4 hours of sleep, that is so awesome. There's nothing like sleeping in your own bed. The following night which was last night, she only slept 4 hours in a row. That's her normal routine so I guess I can't complain. We are starting to see more 5 hours than we were.
She didn't want to take any naps in her crib yesterday, she's all messed up from this weekend still. We're going to have to work on that even if she does fuss a little.
She got her first christmas ornament from grandma this weekend and it is so cute. It says Our Little Princess. We hung it on our mini tree. We aren't doing a big tree this year and yes we already have decorations up. Ella just loves looking at the lights on the tree.
I hope everyone is great.

Ella Slept Longer Than 4 Hours!!!

Ella's been a really good baby. Normally drinks around 10:30 or 11:00pm, wakes around 2:30 or 3:30 am and then wakes up again 6:00 or 7:00am. She has slept 5 hours a couple times but last night she surprised us both. She slept 6 1/2 hours. Oh my gosh, I can't believe it. It's probably a fluke. It would be nice if she started doing this on a regular basis but i'm not going to kid myself. So the night she sleeps, we don't sleep. I woke up wondering why she hadn't cried yet and couldn't fall back asleep. Figures; Ella's sleeping and I'm awake. We have to get on the same schedule.

Ella is Already One Month!

Ella just turned one month old Saturday November 11th. Time is just flying by. She is growing by the minute. We went to the doctor's on Thursday and she weighed in at 10lbs 15oz and she measured 22 3/4 inches. Needless to say she is in the 97 percentile.
Everyone thinks she is starting to look more and more like Sly. Look at those cheeks ! Don't you just want to kiss them?

Ella At Her First Hockey Game

Ella attended her first hockey game on November 3rd. St.Hyacinthe was playing in Sherbrooke. We weren't sure how well she would do, but she did just fine. She went from one pair of arms to another. She actually slept through the whole game. Needless to say, Sly and I were up all night with her. It will be a while before she attends her next game.

Ella's Birth

Ella Rose Addison Daigle
Born October 11th 2006
8lbs 3oz, 21 3/4 inches

Long story short .... I had contractions all day on Tuesday October 10th. I saw the doctor that day and she thought I was in early labour. She had me go to the hospital that night to get checked out and they sent me home saying I was in false labour. We went home at 11:30 pm, and at 1:30 am on the 11th I was awakened by contractions. We headed back to the hospital around 3:00 am and they decided to keep me. This time, I was in real labour. By 4:00 am I had my epidural and was feeling really good. Things were progressing well and then Ella's heart dropped. Her heart went back up but then did the same thing a couple hours later. Around 12:00pm it was time to push. I pushed for two hours every two minutes. The doctor said Ella wasn't dropping anymore. She offered the forceps and we agreed, actually I didn't let Sly have a say. I just told them I wanted her out. I was so worried about her heart and I knew Sly was too. So they finally got her out and realize the umbilical cord was around her neck and shoulder. This is what had been causing her heart to drop. The doctors were not expecting such a big baby. We couldn't believe that such a big baby had been inside of me.
